Andrea Djolovic is a Certified Genetic Counsellor and Founder of GenomiCare. Andrea has worked as a clinical genetic counsellor in the fields of fertility, prenatal, pediatrics and cancer genetics. 


Andrea's international training and perspective has enabled her to take on education and protocol development to improve patient access to genetics, outside of the genetics clinic. Her main interests include improving awareness of services in Canada, and providing support to patients, clinics and clinicians.

Breanne Dale holds a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and Genetics from McMaster University and a Master of Science in Genetic Counselling from McGill University. Since 2017 she has worked in a General Genetics clinic where she provides genetic counselling to children and adults about a broad range of genetic results and conditions. 


Breanne recognizes that each individual, couple or family she meets with is unique and is passionate about helping them make informed decisions that align with their own personal beliefs, values and goals.

Certified Genetic Counsellor 


Claire Shepherd is a board-certified and licensed genetic counsellor. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Science from the University of Calgary and a Master of Science in Genetic Counselling from Augustana University. She has also earned a Graduate Certificate in Genomic Counselling and Variant Interpretation at the University of British Columbia. She exclusively works in reproductive medicine, supporting individuals and couples throughout their fertility journey.


Claire strives to provide approachable and compassionate genetic counselling. She is dedicated to helping patients navigate complex genetic information, empowering them to make informed decisions that align with their values and goals. She is honoured to be part of each journey towards building a family.

 Dana Tyrie holds a Bachelor's and Master's of Science in Biomedical Discovery & Commercialization from McMaster University and a Master of Science in Genetic Counselling from Sarah Lawrence College. Dana has experience in a General Genetics clinic where she provides genetic counselling to children and adults across a broad range of areas within genetics.


Dana works alongside couples to help achieve their family planning goals and create families that are uniquely their own. She is passionate about supporting and empowering couples to understand the current genetic testing landscape, provide education and facilitate decision making to select the best test, and later helping couples interpret their results.

Dana is a board-certified genetic counselor with over 10 years of experience spanning fertility, metabolic genetics, and hereditary cancer. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology from Simon Fraser University and a Master of Science in Genetic Counselling from the University of British Columbia.


Dana has supported numerous individuals and families in navigating the complexities of genomic testing—both in the pursuit of a diagnosis and in using that information to guide informed reproductive decision-making. 


In addition to her clinical work, she enjoys teaching and mentoring future genetic counselors. 


She is based in Vancouver, BC.

Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Biology and Physical Anthropology from Trent University and a Master of Science in Genetic Counseling from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. 


Jennifer has 14 years of clinical experience working in diverse areas, including prenatal genetics, newborn screening, general genetics, and cancer genetics. She also has six years’ experience working in the rare-disease non-profit space with individuals and families with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) and other platelet disorders. 


Jennifer is dedicated to delivering compassionate care and helping clients and families navigate complex genetic information.

Laura Hunnisett is a Canadian Certified Genetic Counsellor. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and Genetics from the University of Guelph and a Master of Science in Genetic Counselling from Sarah Lawrence College in New York.  Over her 25 year career, Laura has worked in prenatal, general, and cancer genetics.


Laura endeavours to provide patient-centred care through empathy, communication and respect. She is committed to educated decision-making in healthcare.

Michaela Sadinsky is a Certified (Canadian) Genetic Counsellor, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Anatomy & Cell Biology, a Master of Science in Biochemistry, and a Master of Science in Genetic Counselling, all from McGill University. She has worked in prenatal clinics, and currently specializes in cancer genetics. 


Michaela has always had a particular interest in fertility genetics, and is interested in making genetic counselling and testing more accessible to patients. Michaela provides bilingual care to her patients in a compassionate manner.


Michaela is fluent in English and French.

Vernie Aguda is a Genetic Counsellor with international training experience. She works in a general genetics clinic, providing genetic counselling to diverse patient populations on a broad range of genetic conditions.


Vernie is passionate about health equity and tailors each counselling session to meet a patient's unique needs. She is dedicated to supporting patients' autonomy and decision-making, ensuring that individuals and families are empowered to make informed choices about their health.

Dr. Andrew Shuen, MD, PhD, FRCPC, FACMG

Dr. Chantal Morel is a Medical Geneticist with over 20 years of experience in adult genetics, pediatric genetics, prenatal genetics and inborn errors of metabolism. Dr. Morel has an in-depth understanding of how the genome can impact an individual's health and expertise in interpreting genetic test results. She is actively involved in teaching the next generations of Medical Geneticists, while providing ongoing care to patients with rare inborn errors of metabolism and consultations for monogenic conditions (ranging from hereditary congenital heart diseases to connective tissue disorders predisposing to aneurysms, to cancer syndromes, neurogenetic conditions and many more). 


Dr. Morel's main goal is to continue providing excellent patient care in light of the increasing availability of genetic testing, and assisting clinicians in understanding genetic results to provide the best overall medical care for their patients.

Dr. Andrew Shuen, MD, PhD, FRCPC, FACMG

 Dr. Shuen is a US and Canadian board-certified medical geneticist with 10 years of clinical experience in Ontario. He completed his medical genetics training at McGill University and holds an MD from the francophone stream at the University of Ottawa. He specializes in cancer genetics, managing conditions such as Lynch and BRCA1/2.

During his clinical practice in Ontario, Dr Shuen simultaneously, pursued a PhD in cancer genetics at SickKids, studying constitutional mismatch repair deficiency syndrome, a childhood disorder characterized by the development of colon, blood and brain cancers.


His passion lies in longevity and anti-aging research, with a focus on delaying and preventing cancer and heart disease. As the President of Progenics, an umbilical cord stem cell bank located in Toronto, his future research endeavors include exploring stem cell therapies for chronic conditions.


Dr. Shuen is fluent in English, Cantonese, Mandarin, and French.
